John Leonard was inspired to write "Those Who've Gone Away" when thinking about the loss of his parents who had both departed this earth too soon and also while thinking of the endless stream of military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our Freedom. This song is John's tribute to all who have gone before us, having sacrificed on our behalf and to serve as a reminder to express to those who are near and dear to us, how much we love them, while they are still here with us.

 

"Those Who've Gone Away" was recorded at Bear Creek Studio, Woodinville Washington, by John Leonard Band in the Spring of 2023. The song is also included on the L.I.F.T Volume 01 CD which is used as part of the fundraising efforts for MusicWorks4Veterans, a 501c3 that inspires Veterans and Families to participate in music making and to realize the inherent benefits that Music can bring into their lives.
